I've seen those smiles, I've smelled those trees
And I'm used to it
I can't be me not here you see
And I'm used to it
I can't stand up for myself if I want to keep my job
And I'm used to it
I can't wear bright colors if I want to fit in
And I'm used to it
I can't wear my hair natural, the way I was born
And I'm used to it
I can't have my own beliefs outside my lips
And I'm used to it
I can't go to lunch with my mate and not be stared at
And I'm used to it
I can't walk by a car without hearing doors lock
And I'm used to it
I can't get on an elevator without someone grasping their pocket or purse
And I'm used to it
I can't get the job I want because my credit was born bad
And I'm used to it
I can't get you to see the real me because of my color
And I'm used to it
I can't get you to love me & trust me because you had a bad experience
And I'm used to it
I've heard that excuse and I'm used to it
I've grown up in OREGON
And I'm used to it.
